There’s nothing revolutionary about ‘SoLong’ by School, except perhaps the band’s unusual approach to spacing. It is, however, understatedly and insistently lovely, and that’s good enough for us. If anything it’s a touch old-fashioned, with a kind of 90s indie charm, but that makes it all the better in our book. Alice Boteus, the singer of the Gothenburg five-piece, wrote the lyrics on the back of a receipt on her way home from IKEA, making it surely the best thing ever to come out of a trip to that particular furniture store.
