From Melbourne comes Gossling, giving us a shimmering and understated brand of folk-pop. Following on from her UK debut single ‘Wild Love’ last year, Gossling – or Helen Croome, if you want to be less poetic – brings us the Harvest Of Gold EP. The title track is slickly produced but also notably restrained – the flashiest thing about it is probably the video. What’s perhaps most striking is her ability to sound simultaneously carefree and world-weary. We realise that contradiction doesn’t make sense. But it’s still true.
