Another brilliant pop song from Sparrow & the Workshop, ‘The Faster You Spin’ is taken from their new album Murderopolis and showcases front woman Jill O’Sullivan’s brilliant tonal range from the sweetly whispered intro to the ferocious chorus.
While this is a move away from the band’s folkier roots, there’s no denying ‘the Workshop can pen a tune and here they beef it up with some robust harmonies. ‘The Faster You Spin’ is a stirring, powerful track and Jill sings the lyric, “If I had a dime for every time you lied, I’d gather up my change and throw it in your face,” with such conviction that we won’t be crossing her anytime soon.
