From Boston, Massachusetts comes this lovely slice of Americana from the Dwells, who are readying their new album Don’t Ever Leave Me Like You Do. We’d never thought of Boston as a hot bed of country themes until the Young Republic did a few good impressions of Gram and Emmylou on their 2008 record 12 Tales From Winter City, but then they were a band displaced from Nashville anyhow. The Dwells, as far as we’re aware, boast no such Tennessean heritage, but, more fittingly for a band from the home of the (original) Tea Party, were formed on the 4th of July and make music distinct to their homeland. A lovely touch of steel guitar sets off the beautiful harmonies that bring this song to life. The Nashville of the north can be proud.
