In 2018, your humble writer lauded the release of Lucinda Belle’s ‘I’ll Be Loving You’ for its authentic presentation of vintage jazz-infused pop. The harpist first played for the likes of Natalie Cole and Robbie Williams before striking it out on her own, presenting vocal jazz with a croon all her own. In the new year, Belle is keen to debut another single on her trailblazing path in the world of roots music.
Entitled ‘Baby Don’t Cry’, For Folk’s Sake is pleased to feature the visualizer presentation of the lushly-arranged new tune. Featuring a contemporary spin of a chorus, Belle soars once again as a jazz noir chanteuse capable of ensnaring an audience within moments. As the song progresses, it garners more of a collective of gorgeous blues undertones complete with some call-and-response backing vocals to spice things up.
