They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and that’s certainly the case with this song. The seven second introduction doesn’t do it much justice but once you’ve got stuck in it’s a different story.
‘Rhubarb and Custard’ is a funky, feel good adventure and after about three listens I was already singing along, wishing I was in a club dancing away to it.
The lyrics don’t necessarily make sense at all times but it’s the beat that’s the spine of this track, which will leave you wondering what Poppy and her Jezebels will get up to next.
