We’re super pleased to be premiere the lyric video for Katherine Priddy’s new song, released today. The song is about being separated from a lover over winter, and is as warm and and uplifting as such material could be. Featuring her trademark soft vocals and guitar playing, but now accomplied with strings from Harry Fausing Smith.
Being apart at this time of year is likely to be relatable for more people than usual this year, just one of the side-effects of… all this. The same reasons mean Katherine’s progress as a rising folk star has been set back a bit (but we’re sure only temporarily), with sets at both Glastonbury and Cambridge falling victim. Still, with a bit of a pivot to on-line she’s carried on playing for audiences, including the Philadelphia Folk Festival, and her online Nick Drake collaboration with Jon Wilks, Lukas Drinkwater and Jon Nice was featured on the BBC 2 Folk Show.
Find the single over on Bandcamp, Katherine over on Facebook, and if you’re quick you can get in on the order for some limited edition merch over on her own site. With a following wind, and a bit of normalcy maybe next year we’ll have news of Katherine’s debug album, so keep an ear out.
