For Folk’s Sake is pleased to share Tellico’s newest single, ‘Salsa’, ahead of the release of their upcoming LP, Woven Waters. Embracing the fluidity of life in the album’s overarching, eclectic perceptions and themes, the album is set to feel like a natural wonder upon its 9 November debut. Hailing from Asheville, the band’s songs often inherently share something in common with the windswept state of North Carolina and its brand of folk storytelling, and such is the case with ‘Salsa’.
Besides its impressive collective of string band-style instrumentation, riding a line somewhere between traditional bluegrass and contemporary folk, ‘Salsa’ aims to weave a tale about a dog. At first, it’s scared off by booming thunder, but the beloved pet does have a reunion with its owner five long, mournful years later. It’s a tale of wonder and hope, let alone one gorgeously performed with such a fine blend of heart and precision from Tellico.
If you like what you hear, Tellico’s Woven Waters is now available for pre-order.
