Folk artist John Smith is wrapping up with For Folk’s Sake video feature residency with a most lovely performance of “Lord Franklin”. As he tells us, “‘Lord Franklin’ is a song I heard John Renbourn play many times, one that my Dad also plays in his honour. Based on the traditional Lady Franklin’s Lament, I’ve been playing this live since I started out.”

“Lord Franklin” is the third and final in a set of live performance videos that For Folk’s Sake will be sharing with its readership. For more information on Smith and his latest album release, Hummingbird, one can visit the singer-songwriter on his official YouTube channel and website. The gorgeous tune above is featured on the album alongside a multitude of other magnificent covers and original numbers. Said live rendition was recorded at Moo & Too in Fromme, Somerset the very day after the 2018 Cambridge Folk Festival.
