Holland singer-songwriter Emil Landman has a brand new live performance video to share with For Folk’s Sake readers today. As its name suggests, Utrecht artist’s latest album, Vinter // Sommer, was recorded on two separate sessions on the Norwegian island of Reinøya—once in the winter, the next in the summer. In a sense, the album features themes as interwovenly fleeting and permanent as those days on the island themselves, with Landman suggesting that Vinter // Sommer finds inspiration in “Finding the realization that you need the darkness to be able to close out the day.”
Ahead of the album’s 7 September release via V2 is Landman’s performance of single ‘Darling’ in the empty listening hall of Zonnehuis Amsterdam. The empty venue offers the perfect place for Landman to let loose on this cool acoustic number, featuring a breezy delivery through vocals and guitar alike. Its simple message of love will find a relatable space to charm its way into anyone’s heart, especially with the inherent allure that an acoustic performance in such a pleasingly open room provides.
