Rooted in the same vein of contemporary folk as early Blind Pilot or Okkervil River, Planes on Paper produce music that is occasionally grand and always intimate. Composed of Jen Borst and Navid Eliot, their artful debut album Edge Markings is set to see itself released on 1 June. Physical and digital editions of the album are available for pre-order now via Bandcamp.
Ahead of Edge Markings’ release, Planes on Paper are premiering their song, ‘Day Alone’, with For Folk’s Sake. The care that went into developing this arrangement is evident from its opening moments. Earnest guitar comes sweetly swaying into the production, followed by a warm vocal delivery from both Borst and Eliot in tandem. If this softly compelling piece of folk music is any indication, Planes on Paper will be enveloping hearts around the globe in no time with their wholesome sound.
