Tom Figgins wanted to explore his folk roots on ‘Retrograde’, so he’s roped in plenty of help from ex-members of Noah and the Whale. You’ll hear Tom Hobden on violins, while Fred Abbott was responsible for the recording and mixing of the track – Figgins’ second following on from July’s ‘Run’. “The track was born out of an urge to tackle the past,” Figgins said. “It’s about immersing yourself in who you were, embracing that and emerging from the flames knowing a little bit more about yourself.” The track is released this Friday, but you get to hear the premiere here a day early because we’re good to you like that.
