Whether we’re talking the incredible multi-instrumental and production capabilities of a Paul McCartney or Patrick Stump in-studio, live-loopers like Ed Sheeran and Keller Williams, or those who really do take on multiple roles at once this side of Joe Hill Louis, at this rate, the one-man band certainly has maintained a name for itself for centuries, now.
Enter the Suitcase Junket, a.k.a. Matt Lorenz—an artist with the power of a four-piece rock outlet all rolled into one. Featuring a one-man band rig of Seussical proportions, partially garnered from offbeat objects ranging from a guitar pulled straight out of a dumpster to a baby shoe, it really is a wonder of modern engineering in one way or another.
After barreling past one million Spotify plays, performing at a notable spread of festivals like Joshua Tree and Mountain Jam, and opening for such names as Lake Street Dive and the Suffers, the Suitcase Junket is looking for “The Next Act”. Compelling, offbeat, and Appalachian, his latest single is especially captivating given its reflective congruence with our current times as a global community.
