First, the good news: Keston Cobbers Club are back! The five-piece will release their new album Almost Home at the end of March, the follow-up to the wonderful Wildfire. Second, even more good news: We have the video premiere of the title track for you right here.
The new album plays on themes of nostalgia and belonging – and nowhere more so than with this track. “It sums up everything we wanted to express with this record – the ideas of home and family,” Tom Sweet said.
The video was directed by the band’s own Julia Lowe, with their childhood home the inspiration. “When Matthew first played ‘Almost Home’, it made me so happy,” she said. “As his older sister and nostalgic dreamer, it reminded me of our childhood together, and all the fun me and Matt had as kids. We have so much home footage that Dad collected over the years, and as soon as I heard the track, the videos flashed through my mind. The house that we grew up in, ’28’ as we affectionately call it, plays a big part in the story of the Cobblers, and the band have become like family – so I wanted us to make a film showing the past, present and future of ’28’, This seemed like the perfect opportunity.”
