For Folk’s Sake is happy to premiere the music video for ‘In Flight’ by Lowland Hum, the second single from their upcoming album Thin set to be released on February 10.
For many, the art-folk duo first graced our ears when they took part in NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series a couple of years back. Since then, they’ve been steadily growing a faithful following and riding the wave of popularity rise alongside a movement for conscious music that forgoes the showboat-y anthems of stadium bands in favor of thoughtful, haunting folk movements to sit back and really listen to and relate to.
Acting as a visual companion to ‘In Flight’, the music video features footage from 3rd Avenue El by Carson “Kit” Davidson, an Oscar-nominated short film, which showcases the renowned elevated railway of New York City prior to its deconstruction nearly a decade ago. The footage compliments the music well in its shared grace and pensiveness, making for another scintillating release by the duo that’s soon to get more talking than ever before as they prep to release their latest LP early next month.
3rd Avenue El is a public domain film that can be watched by accessing the Prelinger Archives.
