News | Lucy Rose announces album and tour

Lucy RoseSinger-songwriter Lucy Rose is due to release a new album, Work It Out, on the 6th of July, through Colombia Records. A second single from the album will also be released on the same date, entitled ‘Like an Arrow’. The first single from Rose’s upcoming album, ‘Our Eyes’ was released back in March, and has since become a regular on Radio 1’s playlist.

Work it Out is Rose’s second full-length album, following on from her 2012 debut Like I Used To, and shows the young musician developing the acoustic folk sound with which she established herself. The new release shows Rose clearly moving towards a more bold, punchy and all around colourful style, when compared with her previous work.

The album’s vividness is perfectly suited to it’s summer release date, with it’s electronic flourishes layered on top of solid acoustic rhythm. The album is somewhat reminiscent of Bombay Bicycle Club’s third album – to which Rose lent her distinct vocals.
