Gruff Rhys’ American Interior has been nominated for three prestigious awards: one of them for music, two for literature.
American Interior the album – Gruff’s highest charting solo album to date – is up for Independent Album Of The Year at the AIM Independent Music Awards while the book is shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and the Gordon Burn Prize. The whole project was a part of an investigative concert tour of America during which Gruff was looking for the grave of a relative named John Evans. The results of the adventure were the book, film and album, all named American Interior.
The Guardian recently described the book as “brilliantly life-affirming” and last night, Gruff was featured on Channel 4 news talking about American Interior.
Gruff sets out on a sold out tour of the UK in the autumn before touring Europe and America (dates).
