Oxford’s Glass Animals have built on the success of their live performances of Kanye West’s 2008 hit Love Lockdown over the last few months by releasing the song on their Soundcloud page. Having debuted the track live on Australia’s Triple J earlier this year, the band received an ecstatic reaction to it during their performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at last month’s Glastonbury Festival. It has subsequently become a live favourite across their current sold-out US tour.
You can listen to the song on the Glass Animals Soundcloud page here.
Produced by Glass Animals’ vocalist David Bayley, Kanye’s 2008 hit gets completely reimagined with the band’s signature deep bass and leftfield myriad of sounds, to take it somewhere altogether otherworldly without losing any of the magic of the original.
Tickets for Glass Animals’ October headline shows in the UK are available now on the band’s website. They play the Latitude Festival and One Beat Weekender in Birmingham this weekend before heading out on a full UK tour from the start of August.
