There are some exciting stirrings among the original London folksters. Mumford and Sons and Noah and the Whale have just released albums (The First Days of Spring and Sigh No More – both released this month), Cherbourg have a new single out (No More Flowers) Laura Marling’s second record is reported to be almost ready, and now we can expect a new release from the wonderful Johnny Flynn.
The four-track EP, caled Sweet William, will be released on 30th November. The tracklisting is: The Mountain is Burning, Trains (Rose, Mary, Time), Sweet William, Drum.
To accompany the release Johnny is playing seven dates around the UK – sadly already sold out – accompanied by the lovely Anna Calvi FFS favourite Alessi’s Ark.
Post touring it’s back to the studio for Johnny to finish work on his second album with A Larum producer Ryan Hadlock. We can’t wait.
