After five years in the wilderness, Kings of Convenience have finally announced the details of their new album, Declaration of Dependence, which is due for release in the autumn.
These generally quiet boys have been nigh on silent since 2004’s Riot on an Empty Street, so it’s not at all unreasonable of us to expect something polished to perfection and primed to lull us into all manner of rhapsodical states.
Along with the album, the band have a promotional tour planned, which includes October dates in Bexhill, London and Warwick. Beware, pop-pickers, these tickets are selling swiftly. If the wait’s too much to bear, or tickets cannot be yours, here’s a sample of the first single from the album, ‘Mrs Cold’.
