As the more die-hard Peggy Sue fans among you might have noticed, they’ve been in the states for ever and ever. Aside from visiting multiple major cities to grace them with Peggy Sue delights, the band have been busy as bumbles recording their debut album. We still have a little wait ahead of us for that bad boy, but in the meantime their new EP ‘Lover Gone’ is so available it’s indecent.
Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens have both given airtime and appreciation to this stunner of a song, which sees Rosa, Katy and Olly paring down their sound somewhat. Do check out the video complete with shadow puppets – it’s a wonder to behold.
As if that weren’t enough, the UK tour’s kicked off in earnest.
Check it:
Jul 5: Stanmer House w. Sons of Noel and Adrian, Alessi’s Ark, Sussex
Jul 11: UGLY SHY GIRLS, Southbank Centre, London
Jul 12: Lounge on the Farm, Canterbury
Jul 16: Chess Club Show w. Local Natives, Borderline, London
Jul 25: SECRET GARDEN PARTY Nr. Huntingdon
Aug 21: The Green Man Festival, Brecon Beacons
Sep 19: Southsea Festival, Portsmouth
If you can’t wait, or have no chance of going anywhere near any of the above venues, you can see a video of their brill version of Missy Eliot’s All in My Grills here. There’s a nice little laughter breakdown in the middle, which adds to the authenticity somewhat.
