This Sunday the Phrased and Confused tour hits London, with a gig at the Cross Kings which might well hit all your cultural buttons simultaneously. If you can handle that much pleasure, that is. Folk darlings Woodpigeon are on the bill for the tour, which they say is “focused on lyric-writing and the collision between words and music”.
Also gracing the stage will be “satirical wordsmith” Murray Lachlan Young, purveyors of spoken word and music Aoife Mannix and Janie Armour, and Dead Poets, who do character-based comedy poetry sketches.
We’ve noticed a bit of a poetry-loves-music rumbling here at FFS in the past few weeks, so keep your eyes on our pages for more news on gigs with a little bit extra. Looks like the future’s got poems in it.
The gig takes place at the Cross Kings at 7:30 on Sunday 9th May. Tickets here.
After their London appearance the tour moves on to a variety of smaller venues around the UK, one of which may well be right up your street:
11 May: Norwich Arts Centre – Norwich, UK
12 May: Arc – Stockton on Tees, UK
13 May: Assembly Rooms – Derby, UK
14 May: Exeter Phoenix – Exeter, UK
