Peggy Sue announce headline tour, new single, album news

At For Folk’s Sake we love the music of Peggy Sue and the whoever-they’re-withs really rather a lot. So we were jolly pleased to get a bumper press release with news about a new release, headline tour, forthcoming album and festival slots.

New single Lover Gone will hit the internet in download form on 18th May, and a limited run CD release will hit shops on 1st June. You can hear the track on triad publicity’s myspace right now.

In a continuation of the London-folk-love-in, the release was produced with Mumford and Sons keyboardist Ben Lovett (who also produced the Sons’ EP Love Your Ground). It features three b-sides, Milk & Blood, Revision and The Conservationist. Sounds like an EP-ey sort of single to us.

Rosa, Katy and Olly are currently in Brooklyn NYC (which – thinking about it – is where FFS would like to be right now. If there’s better pizza to be found than the one we had in Williamsburg, we’ll eat the feathers in our caps) starting work on their hotly anticipated debut album.

They’ll be back in the UK in April for two Camden Crawl shows and a headline tour in May.

Dates are as follows:

24th April – CAMDEN CRAWL London, The Monarch (Wichita Party)
25th April – CAMDEN CRAWL  London, The Monarch (Domino Party)
2nd May – York, The Basement
3rd May – Salford, Sacred Trinity Church – Huw Stephens Presents “Sounds From The Other City”
