For Folk’s Sake favourite Laura Marling missed out on the top prize at the Mercury Music Awards on September 9th.
Laura was spared the acceptance speech blues, at least, as she was pipped to the post (or so we like to believe at FFS HQ) by established indie act Elbow. Obviously not a fan of the limelight, earlier Laura “hurtled down the red carpet so fast that the snappers started booing her”, according to Guardian music writer Tim Jonze.
Laura embarks on a US tour on 13th September with Johnny Flynn and Mumford and Sons, after playing End of the Road festival on Friday 12th.
