I don’t like cricket, I love it. I think most people would call me a purist: not for me the crash and bluster of Twenty20, I prefer the slower, careful rhythm of a full test match. Apparently, I’m not a purist in everything though. If I have to listen to one more song about a bloody maiden and her dead son in a wood I shall scream long and loud.

Exclusive: Laura Marling denies Wiley collaboration

Folk Darling Laura Marling told FFS that despite reports she has no plans to work with rapper Wiley.

In an interview with the Daily Star last week, the grime MC claimed he had been speaking to Laura about the possibility of a collaboration.

But when FFS asked Laura about the plans she said: “I have no idea where that’s come from! Somebody forwarded me the link to a story about it the other day.”

Jay Jay Pistolet releases EP details

Hampshire folkster Jay Jay Pistolet has posted details of his forthcoming EP on his myspace. Three out of four of the tracks were produced by Noah and the Whale’s Charlie Fink and the fourth by Johnny Flynn bassist Adam Beech.

The EP will be released on 17th November through Stiff Records, but copies will also be available ahead of the date on Laura Marling’s Night Terror tour on which Pistolet supports.
