We’re pleased to present our latest session, with Bird in the Belly. The band are a collective made up of solo artist Jinnwoo, folk duo Hickory Signals, visual artist Epha Roe, and instrumentalist Tom Pryor.
They’ve spent the past 12 months recording songs and stories that have either never before been recorded or are rarely recorded – all set to contemporary folk music, in the hopes of reintroducing these songs back into the folk canon. The resulting debut album, The Crowing is released on the 23rd March (although if you make it to one of the two launch gigs next week, you might be able to get a sneaky early copy).
Four of the band squeezed into the studio to record a couple of songs from the album for us. The first one is ‘Shoreham River’.
Keep up with the band on Facebook and Twitter and catch them live on the following dates:
28 February: Folk Room, London (Album launch)
1 March: Folk Room on Sea, Brighton (Album launch)
3 March: Tooting Folk Club, London
8 March: Costal Connections, Worthing
22 March: Lantern Society, London
8 July: The Sail Loft Folk Club, Essex
