From out of Los Angeles come the Silver Lake Chorus – a group of 20 singers who originally got together back in 2010 covering “everthing from Radiohead to Rihanna”. When Australian singer-songwriter Ben Lee heard them perform he had an idea – that they should stop performing covers but find original material to record. Reaching out to friends and contacts, they had a string of artists write new songs for them and the results will be heard on their self-titled debut album, due out this week. AC Newman, Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service), Aimee Mann, Tegan & Sara and Wayne Coyne are among those on the credits list, and right here you can listen to ‘From The Snow Tipped Hills’ – Justin Vernon’s contribution.
