Mutual Benefit (AKA Jordan Lee) will release new album Skip A Sinking Stone later this month and has today unveiled the album’s closing track ‘The Hereafter’. The new album is in large part a reflection on the success of debut Love’s Crushing Diamond, with the first half of the record touching on the emotions felt during a non-stop year of touring, while the second half is drawn from the life Lee made in New York after quitting the road to write and record this new album. The role of ‘The Hereafter’ is to complete the story. “The first song on the album is about being scared that things won’t work out and ‘The Hereafter’ is about learning to let go and finding peace in ‘murky depths where light is found’ when they inevitably don’t,” Lee said.
Skip A Sinking Stone is released on May 20
