Southern will release their new single ‘Cool Kid’ on 24th November through Marathon Artists.
Taken from their as yet untitled debut album, due for release in Spring 2015, ‘Cool Kid’ jumps out with confidence in the song writing and in the direction that the band know they are heading in.
2014 has primarily been spent out on the road, touring venues across the UK (in support of Jake Bugg, Bastille, and The Kooks) which culminated in a packed tent of fans at the Reading Festival, before they headed straight back out on a full UK headline tour. Their travel was interspersed with stints in the studio, laying down their forthcoming debut album (produced by Mark Rankin – Bombay Bicycle Club/Queens of the Stone Age).
Wrapped up in melody, and delivered with a boldness usually reserved for bands in their prime, this new single looks certain to build on the buzz that continues to flank Southern across the UK and beyond.
‘Cool Kid’ is backed by a new track, ‘Sympathise With You’.
