Much loved Canberra-born musician Kim Churchill has announced the UK release of his album Silence/Win, released on Atlantic Records on 22nd September.
Silence/Win was recorded earlier this year, and saw the 24 year old Australian nomad live under a permanent roof for the first time in more than 5 years. Having left home at the age of 18, he’s spent the past few years moving from town-to-town, city-to-city, earning his live music stripes around the world. Earlier this year, Kim garnered rave reviews supporting Billy Bragg on his UK tour.
This autumn sees Kim sharing the album with UK audiences, touring throughout the country in September and October – beginning on Friday, September 26th in Edinburgh, he will travel through Scotland, reaching Ullapool and Glasgow at the end of September. Keeping true to his surfer roots, he will then head down to Cornwall, playing Penzance, St Agnes, Truro and Perranporth on 1-4 October respectively. His live show will then reach London’s Slaughtered Lamb on 6th October, followed by Brighton and Exeter, finishing up in Bristol on 9th October.
Known for his dynamic live performances, which focus on his incredible guitar work whilst simultaneously playing bass drum, percussion, tambourine, harmonica and more, Kim matches his instrumental artistry with fierce, empowering vocals. He was hand-picked by critically acclaimed artist Seth Lakeman to support on his UK tour, including London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 15thOctober.
You can get a taster of the album from his current single ‘Window To The Sky’ below.
