So you know when your debut album is coming out and you wanna sell yourself to the world? You release a catchy single, right? Three minutues long, melody that sticks in your head, radio-friendly riffs – that’s the sort of thing you need to get maximum attention, right? Well, apparently nobody told Pale Seas, because they’ve gone for for a meandering, seven-minute epic. No wonder they’re calling ‘Evil Is Always One Step Behind’ an “anti-single”. This counter-intuative move may prove to be rather shrewd, though, for one simple reason – the sing is an absolute cracker. An album, tentatively titled Places To Haunt, is expected soon.
