Domino records are never happy. Already having given us superb stuff from the likes of Eugene McGuinness, Lightspeed Champion and Cass McCombs, they now have released King Creosote’s latest album Flick the Vs. No One had It Better is taken off this album which is roughly Creosote A.K.A Kenny Anderson’s fortieth release.
Laying lo-fi Bright Eyes-esque vocals over a drum machine and techno beats, No One Had it Better sounds like the Postal Service if they were Scottish and less angsty.
At first, this mash up of genres seems almost alien, but after several listens Anderson’s uniqueness seeps through and if King Creosote doesn’t get as popular as his fellow Domino label mates, it will be a crime!
